ACCREDITATION NEWS (April 11, 2011):
Thank to all who submitted their Reflection Papers! I truly appreciate your support and cooperation.
For 1P2, 1P5, 3P1, 3P2, and 3P3 (incoming 2nd and 4th year, respectively): I would like to appeal once again for your support and cooperation in submitting/returning your Preliminary Exam Scantron Cards for Item Analysis as requirement for PACUCOA Accreditation. We need the Scantron Cards from the Preliminary Exams for PSY 1: Gen Psych and PSY 213: Industrial Psychology. You may submit to me ASAP this week. If Psychology Department door is closed, please place cards in envelope, label as "TO: GLODY REYES" and slip under the Psychology Department door.
At least 10 Scantron Cards per section must be scanned and submitted via email ([email protected]) on or before Tuesday, April 12, 12:00noon. For those who can do this, I will negotiate for plus points for you in one of your Psychology subjects this coming semester!

As of 6:00PM today, January 17, Psychology Department has received no Memo on modification/cancellation/rescheduling of any Preliminary Examination in any subject for any student.

- PSY 1: All projects submitted are given a passing grade. Group leaders may email me at [email protected] to request for your group's specific grade. You must include your group members' last names and section as well as project topic. Incomplete inquiries will not receive a reply.

You must include the last names of your group leader & editor, your section as well as project topic (consumer psych or engineering psych). Incomplete inquiries will not receive a reply. You may retrieve checked projects from the reception area of the Psychology Department. If you do not find your projects in this area, it means that the department was impressed with your output and shall keep your project for exhibit in Department and College activities.

CLARIFICATIONS IN PSY 1 QUIZ ON CONSCIOUSNESS:
- Though NON-REM sleep research provides a minimal possibility for dreams, it is REM that is associated with the occurence of dreams. This is stated in numerous other books in Psychology including Ciccarelli. Thus, the correct answer to #3 is B. REM SLEEP.
- Ciccarelli stated that stimulants provide the opportunity for an individual to utilize all the energy they have stored. This means that to normal people, they seem to possess boundless energy. "Nervous activity" is a totally different topic and pathology in the field of psychology and is totally unrelated to the item concerned. Be careful in using terminologies in psychology that you were not taught yet. Thus, the correct answer to #14 is A. STIMULANTS.
