ANNOUNCEMENT (October 1):
  • MONDAY (October 3):  Due to the fact that we have finished the coverage for the Finals in the Syllabus, I will not hold classes during this day.  I also have an important appointment with my dentist on this day which was schedule more than a week ago prior to the rescheduling of Final Exams Period.
  • Class Presidents:  Retrieve all your test papers from the Psychology Department ASAP.  They are inside a black box at the reception, beside the couch.

  • COVERAGE FOR FINAL EXAM:  Performance Appraisal, Leadership, Consumer Psychology, and Engineering Psychology.
  • Tips for final exam:  Do NOT forget to bring your test permit.  Scantron Cards will be used so bring both pencils and pens.  Read the chapters of the book very carefully, use the Powerpoint Presentations as your guide, and your quizzes as your reviewer.  Pray for guidance and wisdom!  And... HAVE A GREAT SEM BREAK!!!  :-)

SPECIAL & URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT (September 27):
  • Quiz 2 originally scheduled on Tuesday will push through on our Thursday class (September 29).
  • Semestral Project Presentations on Consumer Psychology & Engineering Psychology must be reduced to strictly 20 minutes each group on Thursday UNLESS your class president can find a vacant room and schedule a make up class that would fit in our schedules.  Class presidents must coordinate with other sections I handle in this subject to possibly merge sections and share the room & time.  Merging of sections are highly encouraged, provided that the room can accommodate all.  
  • ALL groups assigned to prepare and conduct Group Reports must submit electronic-copy of ALL materials and presentations to your Class President for compilation to be submitted in one (1) DVD-R per section on or before October 4 (Tuesday), 1:00PM sharp at the Psychology Department.  Please download the PDF file below for Submission Guidelines.

ASSIGNMENT (September 26): 
Submission of Reflection Papers

  • All class presidents, please take charge of this important assignment.
  • Total of 15 individual reflection papers per class (composed of class officers + chosen students in your section) must be submitted by each section.
  • Format:  One-page short bond paper (Letter size = 8.5”x11”), single spaced, Arial font, 11pt font size;  Full Name and Section (flush left) on first 2 lines, “Reflection paper on Industrial Psychology” on 3rd line, contents in paragraph/essay format.
  • Contents:   Significant lessons you learned in our subject, benefits of your experience in class on your future career, and other personal learning/reflection points.
  • Class presidents must collect reflection papers, arrange alphabetically and submit to me on or before September 29 (Thursday), 1:00PM, at the Department of Psychology.

ANNOUNCEMENT (September 17):
  • Performance Appraisal must be finished on Tuesday (September 20).
  • Quiz 1 on Psychological Testing & Performance Appraisal is on Thursday (September 22).
  • Sample Psychological Report in IO Psychology is uploaded on 4shared.
  • Semestral Project Submission and Presentation is on September 29 (Thursday) for both groups.  Each group's presentation is limited to 35 minutes.  Check course syllabus for specifications.
  • Quiz 2 on Leadership is on September 27 (Tuesday).

ANNOUNCEMENT (August 29):
  • All reports in Psychological Testing must be finished on Thursday (September 1).  Reports must be guided accordingly.
  • Psychological Testing report must NOT include repetitive discussion on definitions of important concepts already discussed in Psychometrics in the previous semester.  Instead, focus on the SUMMARY of pointers in psychological testing for IO psychologists.
  • Focus of report on Psychological Testing must be: 
     1.  Sample of Industrial-specific test
     2.  Format & sample of Psychological Report in the 
          industry (note: this is very different from clinical 
          approach in psych reports)
  • Remember, content and execution are equally important in reporting.  The goal is never to merely meet the requirements but to GO ABOVE AND BEYOND TO IMPRESS.
  • Prelim Grades will be given before the week ends.


ANNOUNCEMENT (August 7):
  • Prelim coverage:  Chapters 1-3 of textbook (Intro, Tools/Techniques/Research Methods, and Recruitment & Selection).
  • Prelim test types:  Multiple Choice & True/False (90 POINTS TOTAL)
  • For schedule of exam, please refer to the posted announcements on the Dean's Office bulletin board.
  • For answer key for the Quiz 1, it is available on 4shared for 24 hours (until Monday afternoon).
  • For announcements on Quiz 2, check this site next weekend.

ANNOUNCEMENT (July 9):

  • QUIZ 1 will be on Thursday, July 14  (COVERAGE:  Chapters 1 & 2).
  • CORPORATE IMAGE DEMO will be on Tuesday, July 18.  On top of orientation and guidelines discussed in class, conduct online research on appropriate and acceptable corporate attire.  Side note: Timidness sets you behind while confidence gets you ahead.


ANNOUNCEMENT (June 30):
  • Discussion of research methods in IO Psych will include an assignment involving review of Philippine researches.
  • Download the specific instructions and guidelines for this assignment due on July 7, Thursday, during our class.

ANNOUNCEMENT (June 20):
  • I have lost my voice over the weekend.  Thus, I cannot attend our class until I get it back.  I apologize for the inconvenience.  SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:  If our class is in between your other classes, you need to quietly stay inside the classroom, read the Chapters 1 & 2 of your text book, and wait for your next class.  No loitering.  If our class is your 1st for the day, you may arrive later in time for your 2nd class.  If our class is your last class for the day, you may go home early.
  • CLASS PRESIDENTS:  Please be guided accordingly.  You will be held responsible for ensuring discipline in the class to not disrupt other classes going on in adjacent rooms. 
  • ASSIGNMENT:  Go to the 4shared site, download and print Chapter 1 and 2.  In lieu of classes, study these chapters and prepare for class discussion when I get back.
  • Download Report Topics below for the groupings and the assigned topics for each group.  Discussion/presentations must be interactive (i.e., demonstrations, learning exercises, short clip presentation, etc.).  You may also download Guidelines for Presentation from the 4shared site for other suggestions for high quality reports.
  • From the class list which may also be found in the Report Topics file below, ODD class numbers shall submit a semestral project on  Consumer Psychology while EVEN class numbers shall submit a semestral project on Engineering Psychology.  Specifications and detailed requirements on this project shall be discussed after the Preliminary Examinations.  For now, you may start with brainstorming and blueprint production for your project based on the guidelines provided in the syllabus.
  • CLASS SECRETARIES:  New Deadline of submission of Seat Plan is MONDAY, June 27, 5:00pm.
